Shareholder Education and Empowerment

We believe an educated client is better able to influence events and protect shareholder value. In that spirit, we host two of the world’s leading annual conferences for institutional investors. Founded in 2005, the conferences—The Evolving Fiduciary Obligations of Institutional Investors (EFOII) and Rights and Responsibilities of Institutional Investors (RRII)— meet in Washington, D.C. or Tempe, AZ and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The Kessler Topaz conferences have gained a worldwide reputation for thought leadership on global issues such as socially responsible investing and financial reform, as well as the questions and issues institutional investors and their advisors face daily. We are proud to bring the institutional investment community together each year to share information.

The conferences have attracted distinguished speakers such as the 42nd U.S. President Bill Clinton, President Mikhail Gorbachev, Former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Vice President Al Gore, Sir Richard Branson, and United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, to name just a few.

In addition to the conferences, we publish a quarterly Bulletin for institutional investors, focusing on legal and regulatory developments. We have also authored A Primer on Shareholder Litigation to explain litigation options for investors under U.S. federal and state securities laws, as well as in a number of jurisdictions around the globe.
